Hope everyone made it though the bad weather

North AL. In a whole week, we've been above freezing for 8h. We don't insulate for that. 3 streets over - a water main busted. Quite a geyser for 20 mins.

    Cold and Snowing

North AL. Today we're supposed to go above freezing for 1st time in 5 days. I bet this is a once in 50 years event for here. Normally snows 2-8", warms up and can drive safely in 2 days. Star, may get more freezing rain, coming from Memphis.

    Cold and Snowing

North AL at TN line. We had more sleet than snow. Roads are sheets of ice. 13*F now and 2*F tonight. Local TV drives around filming, saying "We haven't seen any road crews". LOL. Star, did you get more snow or sleet?

Troy-Bilt 4 cycle backpack leaf blower has no high rpm

It may run factory new if carb & fuel lines are good....for a while. Then you use it with an engine tilt and oil slinger/dipper doesn't splash oil. P, R & C are oil starved and start scoring - compression drops. I'm just a hobby mechanic but I've learned to steer clear of tiny MTD 4 strokes...

FG110 mini tiller stalls when air filter cover installed

Small barrel carbs. I had one that the rotating barrel was worn and let too much fuel thru. Do you have a Throttle screw on carb? (I don't recall one). I had to get new carb.

Sounds like the clutch for reel cutters is stuck engaged. Does clutch handle operate properly? Does wire inside cable housing move back & forth? Take pics of where the clutch cable enters clutch near cutters.

Craftsman Yard Vac Ran Great for 10 Minutes then Died

Look at camshaft 46 in IPL. 2 teardrop lobes push rods for valves. The cam gear mates with crank gear. Cam gear could have jumped time. Also, 43 Oil slinger/gov can blow up. Can't tell from IPL but cams can have a boomerang compression release - spring loaded and clears away at run RPMs. It can...

    Briggs 800 175cc won’t start

Landline telephone wire works well for carb holes. But if you can't put fuel in plug hole, re-insert plug, pull rope a few times (maybe 10x if floody), and get a 2 sec run....it's not an air-fuel problem. Think compression or spark/timing problem. See if valves work.

    Briggs 800 175cc won’t start

Engine model #? Years ago, I had a 12S912 on a pressure washer. IIRC, it was gov/oil slinger failure with camshaft damage. Pull the valve cover and see if valves operate properly. Do both valves close as piston approaches TDC on compression stroke? Also, did you wire the the carb jets/orifices...

Engine spins Clockwise from top view (think about pull rope). Did engine stop suddenly as hitting an object? Could be flywheel spun - check key alignment. Most (maybe all) Briggs 12 mower engines will bolt to your deck w/ 3 bolts. The differences will be Autochoke vs primer bulb & others. Some older engines will have a throttle cable to the handle (avoid). Study your IPL 121S02-0130-F1 and compare to potential swap IPLs. I have 126M05, 126T02...

$950 is ridiculous for a push mower engine. Around here, you can find mowers w/ a Briggs 12xxxx engine for $20-$60 that just need a carb cleaning/rebuild or a new carb. I like those engines - have them on multiple mowers.

    No compression valve

If harder to pull than previously....probably carbon on piston top and "head" (inside of jug top). You could try a tsp of fuel on the piston top to give it lube and then pull.
