It was what i just pulled off the engine so its not really a conversion i can see the part on diagrams on some of the vendors is use but it does not list what it was hopefully the one you linked will work for me thanks!

Hello all i have a 26hp kohler engine that i need help finding the starter for. The parts diagrams all list the starter but only give the part number for the non solinoid shift version where thats the one i need. Craftsman version Ps-sv735-0016

Honestly if its a good knock off ya cant just tell by looking but if you buy small sections and test them. Just like sitting in fuel tank if you leave them in a jar with some fuel even overnight and pull them out give them a little tug the cheap stuff will just come apart super easy the good...

Yeah i was starting to lean that way till the diod replacement was shown here its a much easier fix if i have something that i couldnt repair as easy as just popping on another diod!

Hey all i was wrong i can make out the diode numbers i guess i looked at the wrong side when i clipped it off its t6a60

Unfortunately the crack right down the middle burned any identifying numbers i could make out so i have no idea what it was i could install another and Solder it in no problem . I could not find it on parts lists tho when looking

Yeap that seemed to help! The clutch gave that clunk noise after i removed that part and tested volts going down then put the connector back on gave it a few on and off tests to verify for sure. Any reason why tho with that part on might it have been an issue?
