What oil should i use on hydrogear zeroturn

I have an old Snapper zero turn and was told to only use Mobile One 15w50 synthetic oil in the Hydro stats and always to fill the filter with oil on the hydro stat system before installing the new filter. Good luck. Sheenist

    Striping! Gotta love it!!

Would someone show me where the stripes look better than not? I may be old fashioned but extreme stripes look like crap In my opinion. Yeah I know, let the flames begin. Sheenist

    smallest zero turn

I know that Gravely makes good stuff, but not interested in standing up to mow. Would be more interested if they came with a Lazy-boy chair. Thanks for the tip. Sheenist

    Smallest Zero Turn Available?

If you find something, let me know. I, too am looking for a small one, smaller than 34". I currently use a 60" to mow most of 2 acres, but would like a small one other than a RER to get the tight places. I have even entertained the idea of converting a RER to zero turn but foresee a problem...

Help with oil plug B&S 31P777

From what I see in the pic, it looks like a special fine thread. Take the unit that screws into the threaded hole to your local friendly machinist and he will measure the male thread and tell you what it is. It is NOT water pipe threads, I can guarantee you. Sheenist

Anyone ever added a flexible skirt to a mower deck?

I have contemplated that very thing. I mow higher than I used to and am having the same problems with blowout. i purchased a bolt-on skirt from Jacks small engines using part numbers from the owners manual and received a metal skirt. Not what I wanted. Thinking about looking for a piece of...

    smallest zero turn

I'm looking for the smallest zero turn, something smaller than 33". Been searching, but getting goofy results on my searches. Currently mowing with a 60" zero and would like a small zero rather than a RER to get into small places. Sheenist

Wpbrink1: I would check with Oregon. They make a lot of good after market mower stuff. I have never ben disappointed with their products. :As a disclaimer, I have no connection with Oregon. Sheenist

New to me Snapper RER question.

While I don't recommend this, that plastic cover is the first thing that I throw away. Ken2 has the safe way to use them. That being said, I have used 3 Snapper RER's for the last 40 some years and no problems. I would not do this if children use it. Sheenist

Help with oil plug B&S 31P777

Bange:A simple way to determine the size and threads per inch is to find or create a piece of round wood that is slightly tapered to start in the threaded hole. Screw into the threaded hole abaou a 1/2" then remove. The marks left on the wood will tell you the correct number of threads per inch...

    AC for summer cutt'n.

I agree with those that say the AC unit would need more HP than is practical on a mower. One thing that I think would work, is a good sunshade with an overhead fan. Just one old man's opinion. Sheenist

1970's Snapper rear engine mower rebuild and mod log.

Congrats on your purchase of a tough mower. They were not the coolest mower ever made, but good machines. I have had two in the past forty years and can attest to their strength. Although I now mow most of my yard (two acres) with an old Snapper Zero turn, i still keep my old Snapper RER for...

    Snapper NXT22875EE Electric Start Conversion

Davekk: I would recommend that you get a battery "maintainer", not a trickle charger. The trickle charger will "cook" your battery, as it is pushing usually 13 to 15 volts. The maintainer only keeps it at 12 volts. Also, don't use the maintainer to charge a low battery. Good luck. Sheenist

    Z2003K Zero lip baffle?

I purchased an old Z2003K "Zero" that I need a lip baffle for each side. Apparently no longer available. Can anyone give me a clue what they looked like so I can make one for myself? Were they rubber or sheet metal? Were the mounting holes just holes or slots? Any help is appreciated. thanks...

    First RE Snapper

I purchased my first Snapper RE mower with 33" hi-vac deck in about 30 years previous to yours for about a $1000.00 less. I guess its a sign of the times. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your new toy. When adjusting your deck for level, try to get each side the same height. I made...

    Screw identification

That looks like a guide pin for an adjustable part on something. The pin allows a quadrant to swivel after other bolts have been loosened. The slot for this pin might be a curved slot for the adjustment. I hope this makes sense. There is always the chance it isn't for your mower. Take it to your...

Nothing but problems..........2007 Ferris IS200Z 61" Kawasaki Liquid Cool

You went to a dealer. They sell mowers. You need to find a good shop that only repairs them. They are around, just have to look and ask around. Find one that has been around for years and check their rep. On edit: Another thought, you bought a mower that has 427 hrs. That is roughly equivalent...

    Engine locked !

Had an unusual incident the other day with my 28" Snapper RER. I went to start it to drive it out of the shop, but when I hit the start, it turned over about 1/2 turn and locked. Thought at first I had starter problems, but when removed and tested, it would spin just fine. Removed spark plug and...
