Strato carbs are higher turns. 2, 2.5, 3.0. I had one that wouldn't run until 3.5 out. I dislike strato carbs.

Probably a Zama C1M-W26C. I don't have any new or rebuilt ones. Check your pump and metering diaphragms - any stiffness or click = need to be replaced. Zama is a PITA - they have 150 cube carbs and 147 rebuild kits. Walbro has 150 carbs and 4 kits. You never have the proper Zama kit around...

Poulan saws normally have the model # on clutch cover, recoil housing or both. I have a wood shark model 1950. Post a pic of all 4 sides of your saw if don't find it.

Shift Fork 22 slides Clutch Collar 17 either Right or Left (1 is forward, 1 is reverse) to engage bevel gear 15. Then Pinion Gear 9 turns output shaft/pulley.

You need to see if runs normally for 5-10 secs. Try spraying fuel into carb throat after a helper pulls cord. A shot every 1-2 secs to keep it going. If it runs normally, you still have a fuel delivery problem. fuel may be in bowl but it's not traveling thru main jet to the combustion chamber...

What's the engine model#? You may have messed up the recoil spring or starter pawls. When you pull the rope, a spring starts compressing. When you release rope, spring relaxes and pulls rope back in. Pull blower housing and inspect.

Assuming Auto Choke-Tstat-Air Vane model. Pull the air filter and look at choke plate. It should be closed when engine is cold. If not: tstat, air vane or spring problem. If you have a primer bulb, push it a few times, start engine, have a helper push bulb every second or 2. See if it keeps...

I agree with dealership...if you can't wrench on it yourself. But we don't have any Craftsman dealers here, so big box is the only choice. K46 is good for entry level hydro...if you don't have many slopes or want to pull a heavy load.

The engine model would help. eg for Briggs: 28N707-1234-E1. You can push the lever all the way past fast, remove air filter, then look in carb throat and see if choke butterfly is closed.

Post the model # - eg: 13AN77TG766. Then can lookup the transaxle model. Also, the transaxle may have a sticker - eg: 618-04240.

I'd stay away unless you can perform at least moderate wrenching yourself. IPL shows Hydro Gear 321-0510. It may be totally shot. A new one is $600+. I'd bet it's an entry level unit that doesn't like slopes or towing at all.

Figure out which line is which. Open the cap, dump fuel, look in tank. Use a bent coat hanger to pull line to tank opening. Is a fuel pickup (filter) attached or floating free in there? Either the blue line is the fuel supply w/ pickup on end or purge return line with just a short line connector...
