Hi. I have a Murray Riding Lawnmower - 42in deck. The model number is a M175-42. I am having trouble getting correct size for the belt that goes around the pulleys and engages the blades. I have tried 101in, 99in, 97in, and all have been loose. Going to try a 96in belt today and hope that does the trick. Anyone else experience this problem? Thanks in advance.

FYI - This particular mower was seems to be bought and sold exclusivley at walmart. Pictured here:9b467e69-0704-4e61-9fea-85247661cbc6_1.04169a4a754a3334ba3ce01fcf789a6c.png

The Murray mowers are manufactured by MTD, and they require the use of OEM or OEM style belts due to the unique width and cut angle of their belts. There should be a model number tag under the seat that starts with 13 to look up parts.

this ^^^^^^

the model number on the cover is more of a series number and isnt used for looking up parts

the actual model number is found under the seat either on the body or the seat bracket itself in most cases

4 wrong belts will cost a bunch more than 1 right OEM belt.
