It would seem logical from that pic that the deck took a huge hit from a root or curb. It's hard to imagine that the crack near the spindle or the gap at the rear of the deck happened due to a faulty weld or manufacturing defect.

You are correct the 48" Fabricated deck is a beast. Very difficult to remove and slide around. I purchased a MoJack lift so I could Clean the deck, lubricate and change the blades without taking the deck off.

They might not cross reference the exact part number for your machine ( their data base might not show your part number) but if you can figure out your belt length and width, you may be able to locate a match. I had to do that and found one with same width and within 1/2" in length ( shorter)...

Very similar to my Cub snow blower last year.......Fortunately I had dug it out in October before the cold came in and did a test run. Noticed the problem and got the tools out. A couple hours of work but that beast works pretty good now.
