    Printer issues with windows 10

Might check with your printer mfgr. We have a Canon laser all in one, prints fine but won't scan. Looked all over but there is no working driver for this printer to run on a W10 computer.

Is this rare? Or just rare to me?

I have that same mower, same engine. Mine has a three speed gear box with high and low final drive. Best sounding twin I've heard. Mowing is not that great and the speed is either too slow or too fast, but I like to mow with it - just because I guess. I've pulled cars up the hill into the...

Going from tractor to ZT and have one issue I cant decide on. help!

I'd think any of the serviceable ZT hydros would handle your yard and pull the attachments without breaking a sweat. Your JD Tuff Torq hydro is just a cheap disposable undersized throw away transmission and I'd guess you actually got better service than most. The serviceable Hydro Gear units...

    Lawn Boy M Series

I've seen several posts on here about using a 00 grade grease that is semi fluid and not expensive. Get it at Tractor Supply I believe. Might search the site here for a picture of the lube so you'll know what you're looking for.

    New rings orientation?

Should be as you picture. The bevel on the top ring uses compression pressure to aid sealing. The undercut on the second ring helps clean the oil a bit better, generally called the scraper ring. And all ring gaps should be staggered, not in line. Usually the oil ring gaps should be toward the...

    CV15 fuel pump

One thing I've done after a mower has been sitting for some time is pressurize the gas tank, force fuel through the lines and fill the carb. This would prime the fuel pump and maybe get it working. Just take off the gas cap and seal your mouth around the opening and blow pretty hard for...

What with the advertising links in posts?

Starting to see forums that won't let me in with an ad blocker turned on. Yahoo mail for one, and they're trying to charge for mail service seems like. But this forum really works well, an attentive moderator really makes a difference.

    What am I missing?

You're saying that with that black wire unhooked, all is dead? or the motor won't run? Would get some low amp power in that wire from the carb solenoid if it's switched from ground, would explain the motor not running, but not sure if that would kill the whole system.

New Greenworks Pro 60 volt outdoor tools

So using two batteries to mow a nice sized city yard, $458 + $32 tax. Just for these batteries, no mower included. 324 watts works out to less than 1/2 horsepower. I could buy a pretty nice self propelled gas mower for just the battery money, use it for 10 or 12 years, 1/2 gallon of gas a...

Riding Mower rolled onto its side

Probably a crankcase breather that vents into the air intake, would be some serious oil splashing with the mower on it's side and some oil could wind up about anywhere.

    Questions on 13AM bearings, spindles

The brake pad mis-alignment and rubbing might be the noise. And you can spin each blade with the belt off and listen to the bearings. Should turn smooth and pretty quietly with good bearings. Check the small idler pulleys too. I'd get rid of the blade brake completely.

carburetor versus Electronic fuel injection, what is best?

And maybe last but not least, a carb is much more tolerant of lesser quality gas. That fuel injector demands super clean fuel or it's done for. How many average home owners are particular about their gas cans, and even refilling the tank on the mower as cleanly as possible? A fuel pump and...

An answer that has avoided my question for years.

Is your mower deck and blades pitched down just a bit at the front? This is the recommended set up for best mowing. If the front is higher it could be that the turbulence under the deck is flattening the grass enough that the blade can't cut the strip? Just a wild guess here. Does seem...

An answer that has avoided my question for years.

I ran into this with my old Sears GT rider. I measured the blades and got a new blade for the center that was longer, had to grind a bit off the edges to clear the other two just a little. Not sure if those blades were originals made shorter in case a bearing went out, or maybe a generic set...

    T2290 Transaxle Comparison

I believe this is the hydrogear g730 with 1" axles, weighs about 45 lbs, torque rating 250lbs, and is serviceable. Seems like a vast improvement over a K46 or 5X series. A K66 might have the edge over the HG unit though, but that gets into a big price adder I suspect.

Self Propelled Lawn Boy's - Need Some Schooling

Usually the rim drive propelled deal is dirt simple, belt drive off the side PTO to a cross shaft to the drivers. Not on this mower. Lots of components with this and in general not to beefy. I'd avoid the mower as a self propelled (propeller?) but would still be a decent push Lawn Boy with a...

X360 Forward and Reverse Pedals and Power Deck Lift Stopped Working????

See several pictures of the 58 trans. and the fan is actually on top, seems strange but maybe designed for correct belt alignment for the larger gearbox. How many hours on the machine? Might be a good idea to do an oil change while you have it torn down this far. Several videos on Youtube on...

Replacing the front tires on 13CC26JD011 (2015) with Tubeless

Those small tires are a bear to work with, and worse dealing with tubes. I'd go tubeless, new valves. Clean that wheel rim really well and I like to smear glue on the beads to insure sealing. And I've also found that the current crop of Chinese tubes are trash, and not cheap either. Take a...

Is the X350 the right mower for me

Don't think the X370 is that much of an upgrade to the 350. Same basic transmission design with a few upgrade components. For an average yard with no extra utility use either mower would do the job for years. The Kanzaki Tuff Torq K46 is just a flawed design with the hydraulic pump and motor...

    Sharpening blades

Probably. Put the blade on upside down and it still mows. And today's blades are in all kinds of shapes, kerfs, and edges. I just try to follow the original angle and get a good sharp edge. It would be nice to have a sharpener that could be used with the blade(s) on the machine, couple...

Problem with Kobalt 210 electric cord Lawn mower

LOL. That video makes me to never want an electric mower. Or a diesel generator. And the sparks from the brushes and the trapped grass under the bonnet could burn down a garage if conditions were just right.

    Kawasaki FD750D

If you can see any rotating part on the motor a cheap Harbor Freight hand held tach. would work for you. And that amp gauge might save you some grief at some point if the charging system would get weak and leave you stranded out in the field somewhere.

    Mower shopping

Does your home have a crawl space or basement? The crawl space deal usually has a fairly good sized access door, perfect for a push mower. And, wow, these push mowers are getting real expensive these days.

    Ryobi 2-cycle Trimmer Problem

About a 1 in a hundred shot here but I just got into this with my blower. Figured to junk it and get a new one, they are pretty disposable. Turns out the spark plug had a really fine piece of carbon between the center and ground electrode. Barely could see it. Would start and run about like...

Nut is stuck, trying to change blade.

Not sure how that spindle is made but if all else fails take the nut off the top, disassemble, pull the shaft and blade out, take to a local shop and have them get it off. Cost a couple bucks. Our local NAPA shop eats this stuff up just for fun.

Craftsman lawnmower shuts off tried everything

Two general things I'd try. (1) Pull the spark plug and inspect. If black and sooted up you're way too rich, check the choke or float level and needle valve. If white and clean get back into fuel supply. (2) Take off the housing and pull off the grounding wire on the coil, leave it unhooked and...

    Westwood T1200

I'd say it's time to head down to the local supply house and get a new idler. Should be fairly simple to match up one with what you have. Can do just so much with some really moth eaten parts, been there myself many times.

Don't bother to sharpen those blades!

The angle of the tip is something to consider too. A steep angle is a bit stronger for rough area mowing while a longer narrow angle might stay sharp longer. With that angle I can usually sharpen the blades in mid season and at the end ready for next year.

Question on 2 fuel lines found on smaller blowers and weed wips

That little plastic end on the bigger line keeps the line from coming out and I suppose meters the return gas from the carb for priming.

    Front wheel bearing vs bushing

Hard to find a bearing the same size. Bushings are pretty thin, large ID for the shaft with a relatively small OD for the wheel bore. Might find a caged needle bearing that's close, take some work to get it shimmed etc. to work, and those are pretty pricey.
