I have a Snapper LT-200. The front wheel bushing disintegrated. I'm thinking of replacing it with a bearing instead. My question is will the bearing have to be pressed into the wheel or does it just slip in? Thanks in advance for your help.
The OD of the bearing should have a slight press or interference fit. The ID of the bearing for the shaft is most important. If you find that the OD of the bearing is a bit loose thin metal shims will work.
Hard to find a bearing the same size. Bushings are pretty thin, large ID for the shaft with a relatively small OD for the wheel bore. Might find a caged needle bearing that's close, take some work to get it shimmed etc. to work, and those are pretty pricey.
