I would disconnect the Kill Wires from the base of each coil and try it. While it might be a coil, they are very reliable and the Kill Wire diodes failing is more common. Walt Conner

I always have a test gravity feed gas tank at hand and I think you are on the right track using one. Problem not in crankcase. Suspect leak in vacuum line or pump diaphragm. Your test tank will help tell you. Walt Conner

There are holes in the flywheel for the cheap B&S puller or you can easily make your own puller. Use self tapping bolts in the untapped holes or simply tap the holes. I have pictures of B&S blocks with holes punched in the top of block using above pry bar procedure. Walt Conner

If you are lucky enough to pry over a re-enforcing Web, you may get by with it. IF you pry between re-enforcing webs, the casting is very thin. Walt Conner

B&S engine coils do not need nor want battery power to them. That is a death Nell for B&S coils. Walt Conner

A bent push rod almost always means a slipped valve guide. Valve guide should not extend more than 1/8 inch above head casting. Otherwise valve keeper hits top of valve guide bending push rod. Never heard of "iron coated aluminum bore". I suspect it is aluminum bore, most 25 series were, and you used the wrong rings and aluminum bore is now scored to pieces. Aluminum bore has special coating which hone quickly destroys also. Walt Conner
