Piston rings replace won't start. Timing Mark's are aligned governor and oil pump are correct. Is it possible my timing is 180° off. Engine will crank

No, Are you sure the key didn't slip out of the crankshaft gear? Are you sure you properly identified the timing mark, didn't mistake something else for timing mark? Have you checked for spark? If it has a carb bowl solenoid, are you supplying 12 volts to it? It is working?

Timing was off. I was using the key for timing. I correct it. Now it's back firing through air intake. I have spark and 12+ volts going to solenoid on carburetor bowl and I have spark. Thanks for your feedback

Typical of flywheel key being partially or completely sheared. Can check by removing shroud, screen, crankshaft bolt and washer then looking down keyway. OR the Intake valve clearance is not properly set or Valve seat is bad/dislodged.
