But I'll try it without the wire attached

The mower turns on with no problem,it's just when l release brake that it acts up.thanks again

I've replaced starter, solenoid,key switch, battery cables,fuse,etc

I'm putting parts because this was a abused and I'm trying to give it some TLC.l have some knowledge of diagrams but I'm no expert, learning as l go with you all expertise

Would the three switches it has do the same thing .

Rivets l purchased all three switches just in case . Didn't know the affects of a bad switch.Thank you

My victory was short lived,now this happens 😞

Recently exchanged new pos and neg cables and starter got it going and did my yard.now my mower starts but when l release the brake / clutch paddle it turns off.

my victory was short lived,got my snapper going after replacing neg and positive cables.Now when l press the brake / clutch paddle and let go to mow and my engine shuts down.if l press the paddle back it stays on.

Finally got a chance to get to my snapper,turns out my negative cable to battery was bad.could not understand why but l replaced both positive and negative and replaced old starter for a new one and put a new solenoid for assurance.all good for now, going to replace my 3 safety switches...

I can't crank the engine over because the solenoid just buzzes to check for spark,l think l have to jump starter to check for spark.Thats if the starter is good.l was going to replace solenoid, starter and maybe coil to make sure.what do you think.

I don't know what causes pull start not to work.one question When it does start it runs great, but after l shut it off it goes to buzzing and try it again no luck on both key or pull start ,

I have 12.89a/c at the starter l tried disconnecting the kill wire no luck on pull start or cranks.at least now l can hear the solenoid buzzing but no action.l will try your procedures and 🤞pin point problem.Thank you

It's weird because l can't pull start it,but when it does crank l go and pull start it and it works.

Well l did some trouble shooting and found my fuse came out,now my ignition solenoid buzzes but no crank.have 12.89 DC at starter but no crank.Is there a way to test starter.it started here and there and now nothing but the solenoid buzzing

It has to fuses that l need to check,

I was going to jump the starter to see if it cranks with out the ground wire

My carb doesn't have a solenoid,my mower is dead silent.

No,the engine doesn't crank or do l hear the ignition module click.l charged the battery but no luck. After l turn the mower off and came back it just click and then nothing.l even tried to pull start it and it usually starts but not this time.could it be a fuse, module, safety switch.

Cut my front yard and parked the mower to trim edge my yard and it won't crank over.l first heard the solenoid click and then silence nothing.Tried pull starting and nothing.l am charging my battery just in case and the solenoid is new .it has a starter and pull start attachment...

Yes, it was all broken up, received new one plus gaskets set and fixing to put everything back .

I found the problem,it was the oil slinger that broke apart.waiting on replacement.

If l want to replace my oil rings ,how do l go about ordering them.Would they be standard oil rings. I'm doing them because l have to open the engine and replace oil slinger.

I adjusted it on the outside but no luck
