    I understand what you are saying about compression but how can it go from zero to normal just because I reset the bail handle. Unit runs fine once I got it started and has had no issues to this point. If it has zero compression it should not start at all.

    Mower sat for 3 years....changed the oil / drained the old fuel / cleaned the air filter / new plug . It started on the 1st pull and is running fine. Is there an inline fuel filter on yours? maybe plugged? Have you got a good spark?

    I think I will be using Shell Nautilus 2 stroke oil when my supply of Lawn Boy oil runs out. It is recommended for air cooled engines. Alternatively, Castrol Go 2T motorcycle oil.

    Maybe worth a try....take out the air filter and squirt some fuel straight into the carb throat....prime 3 times ….set choke ….and pull away! Worked for me when my 10525 was being stubborn.....until I cleaned the carb. Now back to one pull start. PS - you will probably have some difficulty...

    Well mower is back to a one pull start....all I did was clean the carb...nothing else. Primer bulb / hose were okay. Not bad after 15 years of only changing the plug and cleaning the air filter. Oh yah...and sharpening the blade.

    I do once a year in spring and fortunately I have lots of drive axle back up parts....but I know what you mean after tearing down a few junkers and de-greasing the guts inside. PS - the drive line on my 1999 10525 has never been apart.
