New spark plug and gapped to 0.030". Confirmed I have spark. When I spray a little carb cleaner in the carb it doesn't hit. No fire at all. I pulled the flywheel and checked to make sure the key wasn't sheared and it was not. I'm guessing that I'm not going to have compression. Anybody else...

Thanks! Pretty involved process to get to that little guy on the cam. Do those fail often? I'm going to recheck valves and look for guide issues. Can the springs be removed with the head still on the engine?

Two issues: Kohler SV720S is a pain to start. Won't turn over past the compression stroke. The compression release is messed up somehow. Valves are adjusted correctly, so I'm guessing now it's valve guides. Saw a video on how to tap those back in place and might give that a try this week. I'd...
