Going to assume he has an in the well submersible pump and the well doesn't have a pitless adapter and has exposed plumbing which usually needs a well house with some kind of heat. My 2 wells have pitless adapters so all plumbing is well below the frost line.

If you want store an engine or give it a little lube to stop the supposed dry start they sell a product called fogging oil. Made for storing outboard motors. Remove the plugs and give a couple second spray in each cylinder and cank starter for a couple seconds and put the plugs back in.

When it won't restart (hope you haven't choked it) pull the plug. Is it wet with fuel? Dry? Oily? Have you tried a new plug when it won't start? When that saw is warm pulling the rope one time with the choke on can flood the saw. FYI

I don't flip a lot of equipment and don't really like doing it but when i do i spray it down with WD40 and wipe it down real good. Makes paint shine and plastics look like new. Doubles the price i can get.
