Yup. He installed the ring upside down. Most every chainsaw has some way to locate the rings so the don't hang a ring in a port.looks to me that the ring is installed upside down, not fitting the pin properly and jamming it out into the bore. Not a lot of pistons have that feature.

Almost every two stroke has the pin unless the ports are miniscule and even then...hell, .21ci RC engines have the pin.looks to me that the ring is installed upside down, not fitting the pin properly and jamming it out into the bore. Not a lot of pistons have that feature.
