putting on new belt that goes from gear transmission to pulley on engine. owners manual shows diagram but can figure it out cus pulleys are at 90 degree. a pic of belt installed from underneath would be appreciated. email balljamess@yahoo.com

Please provide the model number and serial number off of the product tag and we can look it up accurately. Most are under the seat area.

Don't see that configuration anymore. From the bottom of the transmission pulley start the belt and go to the left side of the engine pulley with a 1/4 clockwise twist. around the engine pulley and the V idler to the right of the engine pulley. then 1/4 counterclockwise twist to under the flat idler pulley in front of the transmission. go between the flat idler and the V idler so the belt V goes into the V idler pulley and then back round the top of the transmission pulley.

This is an odd design, likely a private labeled electrolux design sold by Husqvarna back then. Husqvarna bought out several struggling small lawn equipment startups (ventures) back then. Similar to what John Deere did with Scotts branded mowers.

This is an odd design, likely a private labeled electrolux design sold by Husqvarna back then. Husqvarna bought out several struggling small lawn equipment startups (ventures) back then. Similar to what John Deere did with Scotts branded mowers.
Were common on the 80-90's model year riders especially with the 2 speed rear ends. Back when they had actual gear transmissions 3 speed + reverse, or in the case of the 2 speed rear ends were sold as 6F+2R and not the variable speed drives that MTD uses.
