    Make sure to fuel lines are clear and not cracked. And the fuel filter in the bottom of the tank is good. Bogging is either a plugged exhaust screen EPA Forestry crap deal or insufficient fuel delivery. Or a screw setting on the high or low side if you have those. Hoping you are trying...

    I would clean the snot out of the original one. Run it through the wife's dishwasher on hot pot scrubber mode. Course remove the float and rubber pieces first. Blow both ways with compressed air. Might take 3 cleanings to get her to hum. Spray out both ways with carb cleaner and EYE PROTECTION...

    You have a throttle lever on the handlebar. Pull the sucker back about 3 feet LOL. You are about the stretch the rod, in a bad way. Like I mentioned, follow the directions exactly. Read them a couple of times. slomo

    If you didn't "hear" any gas in there, how is fuel coming out of the muffler? Remove the carb off the engine. Turn the fuel ON. See if fuel comes out of the carb throat. If you didn't hear any fuel it might of been full. Lastly listening for fuel is not a proper test. slomo

    Sir, gas coming out of the muffler is the carb needle sticking OPEN when it shouldn't be. Get the carb addressed first before messing with valve stem caps and cup holders. Did you pull the oil dipstcik and smell for fuel? Looks like you breezed over everything I mentioned. slomo

    Some engines have compression releases/exhaust dumps to make cranking easier. These will skew a compression reading. It should crank and run on 50lbs. Probably not make any great power/torque. It's an old Briggs. Sucker might run on 5lbs. slomo
