That's how we patched tubes in the good ole days . A Camel patch kit had everything needed other than a kitchen match to light the glue to make it cure - dry faster .The tubes were red rubber .
My tire go to tire people tell me some newer tires inner layer is not to be patched and won't hold a patch because of the new cheeeper material someone discovered . With this in mind if i can find a nail or thorn from my thorny Chittum or Black Locust tree it gets a plug without ever removing...
Using that mower to do that job , especially with a mulching blade , would be similar to a Yugo pulling a 20' car hauler trailer loaded with a 1 ton dually .
If your XT1 has a electric solenoid fuel shut off on the carburetor , hold your hand on the carb bowl and you should feel and hear a click there when the switch is turned to ON . With a yes or no reply , maybe a XT1 X-pert can take it from there .
I suggest you get professional advice from your county agriculture extension service if your state / county has one .
If so we just hope they are above Mr. Kemball's pay grade and i'm betten they are .:)
If it's burning that much oil and not leaking oil you undoubtedly have one of the better mosquito foggers made . Maybe not cheep to operate but a good one .
Actually only 1 bearing is all that needs to be push fit . The last J D i believe a LA 135 or close to that number , had 1 press and 1 bearing push . The lower bearing was pressed in until the outer race contacted bottom then the top bearing being a push fit seeks it's correct distance when the...

Your mention of marine engines assisted in my recollection of the MEP engine i operated and maintained . A submarine engine during WWll had 2 cranks , upper and lower and of course , opposed piston so no heads . Worst engine i was ever involved with . I doubt any MEP contributed to winning WWll .
About 99% of the time when an engine with a constant speed governor surges like yours it's because of fuel starvation ( lack of fuel ) and it doesn't matter if it's a briggs or a V-!2 continental
Not being able to move the sleeve spacer to the side tells the whole story well and this is almost always certain why the bearings failed .
The bearings were damaged with the first few revolutions when installed at the factory or buy someone that thinks they understand bearing installation but...
The word -- mouse -- is the clue . Those air cooled engines usually have a metal shroud that directs cooling air across the head . A favorite in many to build a nest out of the rain . With engine running you should be able to feel a strong air flow with your hand across the head / spark plug...
Sure the neighbor handled this like a drunk , but why is it so difficult for people to believe the property value plunges to the bottom of disaster when even 1 black moves into a neighborhood . Must it happen to your neighborhood to wake up and believe it . Example: How would you like your...
