I have the wrong carb that requires a manual switch to operate the choke for my push mower vs the bubble pump action of the mower so I figure I can just rig a makeshift switch but I wonder if it can be one way choke-closed and let vacuum open it. Got me?

For fuel do you check in the carb throat somehow or just check the plug? And is it enough to use carb cleaner to just get it popping a few revolutions to confirm you have spark?
Anyone ever find a set of these gaskets for cheap? I'd like to get a bunch of these along with the bowl gaskets which are a dime a dozen, but so far these aren't looking too cheap
