Will the operating engine vacuum keep the choke open?

Well it's not "heavy" at least to my finger and so far so good. My choke switch is flimsy as heck lol but works! video

Will the operating engine vacuum keep the choke open?

I have the wrong carb that requires a manual switch to operate the choke for my push mower vs the bubble pump action of the mower so I figure I can just rig a makeshift switch but I wonder if it can be one way choke-closed and let vacuum open it. Got me?

If need be I've rigged something before in a similar situation.

Replacement carb has choke, stock doesn't?

Oh shoot. Good point. I'll have to check that tomorrow. Good thing I didn't put it on yet. It's probably not but judging by your response I might get lucky

Replacement carb has choke, stock doesn't?

Omg stupid me. I really don't know how these things work. Gotcha. Okay. Should I just break it off somehow or something?

Replacement carb has choke, stock doesn't?

Toro mower 20065 - SN 280105976 It surges, kinda weak. Still gets the job done but not ideal. Thinking of swapping this one in. Don't know why I got it as it's not exact but that's what I do lol. Can I? Should I just prop it open somehow or anyone got a tip to make a custom switch? And how does...

Trimmer started only after yanking on it with throttle and choke open

Idk what it means but my trusty echo PAS 225 that has been serving me at least decent for a decade now needing a couple cheap carb replacements(prolly why it doesn't run perfect) today just stopped turning on and after yanking on it and spraying carb cleaner here there and everywhere the final...

Easiest way to check for spark and fuel on push mower

I figured as much, v just wanted to confirm. And fuel?

Easiest way to check for spark and fuel on push mower

For fuel do you check in the carb throat somehow or just check the plug? And is it enough to use carb cleaner to just get it popping a few revolutions to confirm you have spark?

Looking for a pack of gaskets

Anyone ever find a set of these gaskets for cheap? I'd like to get a bunch of these along with the bowl gaskets which are a dime a dozen, but so far these aren't looking too cheap

Best budget cordless equipment that also does auto tools

Your don't like Milwaukee? I've been using mine for a decade. Not professionally but regularly and never had an issue. I'd say they're priced right but I'm poor.

Best budget cordless equipment that also does auto tools

I'm about done cleaning carbs at this point. My Milwaukee's are great but too expensive. Is Walmart "Hart" brand too cheap? What about Harbor Freight brands?

Which adjustment screw for idle on craftsman weed Wacker ?

This is what I have. Anyone know what prob could be here and if there's a solution for this new carb? Vid

Which adjustment screw for idle on craftsman weed Wacker ?

I've actually got one of these which I might use but problem is they have their own carb but my craftsman has its choke on the air filter cover itself which conflicts with the choke lever on the carb. I could cut down to fit though maybe

Which adjustment screw for idle on craftsman weed Wacker ?

You guys know this common one? One pacman screw on the inside one on the outside. I can get it started but doesn't stay running unless I throttle it which only lasts for so long I've put a lot of car cleaner through this though maybe it's that diaphragm in there too brittle as I recall causing...

How to maintain variety of batteries

I have a few different batteries from a generator to motorcycle to truck. Should I connect these to a trickle charger to maintain whatever health they have left and if so would a cheap solar charger suffice? And would I just connect them all up in series? Not exactly lawn related but you guys...

Echo was working but suddenly no more

I wish I'd started young. My grandpa was mechanically inclined shop hobbyist but not my father. Fortunately I ended up with some of my grandpa's interests but it's definitely harder to figure this stuff out later in life especially if you're not doing it every day I think I already mentioned I...

So where do you guys get your carbs and/or rebuild kits/parts?
  27. J

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

To me it looks like both leaking and non-carbs hold air the same. I struggled with the new line not holding the air 100% but I cut it out of vid. But it looked pretty clear both confirmed leaking and not-leaking carbs hold the vac pressure the same. If there's nothing else it could possibly...

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

What's going on here with this hand vac? Is it supposed to leak as it does? I should be able to test the needle valve with it
  30. J

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

So take note of how the one on the right, my latest one with the proper linkage, has this different needle valve and spring. The one on the left is an older one that doesn't have the linkage but it doesn't leak BUT without the linkage I think it is causing the rich issues I was having with it...

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

But it wouldn't work though in the same manner to test the pressure? It's only the same but in reverse. How do you use a pressure tester anyway? Is it gauge you use with some compressed air or... I don't have any. One thing I've been wanting for my lil shop for years is some compressed air...

I don't recall you giving me any docs on this carb. We were talking about my trimmer no?
  34. J

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

One of these vac pumps work? If I lay the carb upside down so the bowl/valve sits in the seat and pump it up? I'll test the pump first on its own to make sure it's sealed
  35. J

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

Any other possibility? I can't see how that could be it if it's sealing perfectly against my lungs. The seat is just a brass piece. The needle looks perfect. I suppose maybe not and the difference is just so slight. I'll look for rebuild kits cuz I also need bowl gaskets.
  36. J

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

Can't figure out why this carb is leaking. It's my newest one so everything looks new but it leaks from the front out of the main jet. The little rubber stopper valve is a soft rubber I think works against me blowing into it. Any ideas?

Echo trimmer string always running back into head

Ah... Makes sense. And good news cuz I often look in my lawn at all the stray pieces like they're candy wrappers. That's why I see them all over the place! They're breaking off, not sucking back in. Good to know. They ought to put some nitrogen or mosquito killer in them too. Thanks for the info...

Echo trimmer string always running back into head

Keep in water? Really? Weird. So being old and brittle it just breaks there? I was thinking it was pulling in somehow. Interesting. Okay then. How about a little oil in the water? Keep it Nice and supple.

Echo was working but suddenly no more

Well I tried with a couple plugs, one new. Check the vid above a couple posts. I got fuel/oil coming out of the exhaust. Doesn't that mean there's a major issue with the piston? I've never dealt with oil coming out of the exhaust of a 2 stroke, so not sure what that means
