You are pretty much right with what you say here, however dropping the transmissions and the tensioner do make it a lot easier that I found.

I thought it would be a walk in the park, but the park had lots of holes, hills and was not a pleasant job to to say the least. Good luck with yours, and don't expect to be done in an hour!

You are probably right. Think it best for me to go on and order the wiring with the diodes i it.

Kohler don't give an example of the wiring detail in their website. The one I posted is the best I have found.

I have a shorted out fuel solenoid wire that has 2 diodes in the wire, the wire splits into two separate wires that connects with the main wire harness. The diodes shorted out at the clip at the back of the engine. What are these diodes for? Could I wire them straight as they are burned up...

Probably asked and answered before, is their a substitute for the "cub cadet drive system fluid plus" that goes into a 3206 differential? 17.00 - 18.00 dollars a quart is a lot for oil. Thanks, goat roper

I believe this may be a "fun kart" briggs engine. Is it rated more hp than the regular 5 hp. engines? Seems it takes a different gas tank from the regular 5hp engines. Anyone run into this before? I don't have the cowl for the recoil, so any numbers are missing.Thanks

Thought I had posted earlier, however, the second 22 hp JD briggs stratton engine has throwed craps in a matter of 4 years on a Z425. Is there an engine that will interchange besides the B/S that anyone has tried, like a kohler, kawasaki or anything besides a B/S? Thanks for any input, goat roper
