Ok, so a new needle, I probably need a bowel gasket, a new float wouldn't hurt and I can probably skip the seat for now? What Bowl gasket do I need?

I took the bowl off and this is what I found. The needle tip was breaking off and before I put it back together it broke off. It looks exactly like the needle that was suggested right?

I think this is the answer. removing and replacing the seat seems do-able.

Walbro and Nikki are companies that make carbs or they are types of carbs? can I replace a carb with one that doesn't have a solenoid ?

I have to say that I half assed it. I couldn't get to the nut in the back that holds the engine cover on, so I gave up. i did pry the cover up and spray degreaser behind it.

So Im thinking a leak at the valve cover? I guess I clean the engine up, run it once and see where the new oil is? it does not leak when it is sitting.

How do I figure out where this oil leak is comming from? I assume all of that dust is stuck to oil that has leaked from the engine?

I need help identifying a B&S engine. I am looking for parts especially a carb but want other information as well. If I know the model number all this info would be just a google search away. Here is what I got. Mostly I want to buy a replacement carb.

I bought a used engine, ithe stamp on the valve cover is rusted over, but it is an I/C 17.5 HP B and S. It does not have an oil filter. I searched I/C 17.5 and the internet said 48 oz oil capacity.
