Here are some pictures of the Echo PE-225 edger I got.
Also, a picture of the Craftsman Mower/Snowblower Light. I didn't get it on my snowblower yet, but I will post some pics of it on there once I do it.

Looks really nice. :thumbsup: Let us know how it works out. I'm thinking of getting one, since I really hate dealing with the electrical cord on my B&D Edge Hog. Can you adjust the position of the switch/throttle assembly on the shaft ? The only complaint I've heard is that it's a bit underpowered. My other possibility is the Stihl FC 56 C-E, which has a larger displacement engine.

Echo edger: What I think so far

I used the edger a little bit around the house today and it was good. It was way to muddy (since the snow is melting now), so it got clogged quite a bit. But it is very simple to clean it out, just get a screwdriver and dig the dirt out. But I think it will be fine when everything dries. I probably will never be edging a customers yard when everything is this wet, so it was a good test. I also noticed that you have to push the throttle in farther to get the blade spinning than you do with a weedwacker to get the head spinning, I will probably be having it on full-throttle more often than I would with my weedwacker. But overall, I like the edger so far. I will put the light on the snowblower this evening, and take some pics.
 
Snowblower Light

Here are some pics of the light on my snowblower and also of the light at night. It works great! It can turn a little from side to side so the second picture is of it turned a little to the right. The camera flash is OFF in all of these pictures.

I don't think there is much of away of adjusting the switch/throttle assembly on any of the units, they don't give you enough cable to do to much. The PE-225 is a 21.2cc engine and to notice any appreciable power difference with the Echo brand you'll have to spend $400 plus and get the PE-280 with the 28cc engine.

That's what I was thinking. The Stihl definitely has no adjustability to the switch/throttle, so that might have been a plus when considering the Echo. The Stihl FC 56 C-E costs only $20 more with a larger 27.2 cc engine that is rated at 1,1 bhp. Or, I could buy the pro grade FC 70 for $70 more with the same size engine rated at 1.2 bhp. Echo does not rate the power in their engines, but I have to believe that it would be less than the Stihl with 6cc more displacement.

The Stihl set ups for switch/throttle are basically the same as the Echo's unless you by the Home Scaper series and there all one piece. If I were going to buy Stihl I'd spend a little more and go with the FC-90 I think you'll be a lot happier with it than the FC-70 and this is just my opinion but I leave that HSS FC-56 C-E on the shelf, but like I said that's just my opinion.
 
I got to try out my Echo PE-225 edger on something worthwhile for the FIRST TIME today. It worked great! The snow had just melted so it was muddy, and it only clogged once, which is good for the demanding conditions. I usually won't edge in those circumstances. I am still getting used to edging, but I think I did a good job for the FIRST TIME! I did along the road and also along a mulch bed. In our area the grass is not higher than the road (it's the same height) so you can't make the edge stand out that much along the road, but I think it did good. Ignore the ugly grass in the pictures.....we don't have good grass....AT ALL! :tongue:
