HI.. hoping i can get some insight into this magnum mz 2013 zero turn i picked up cheap. Sure appreciate any help with probably silly questions. First zero turn.

1. we used it to pull a small bushhog DR unit behind it. Didnt use blades on BB Magnum. After about 2 hours.. i tried to engage the Magnums blades and it kept stalling out immediately. Throttle all the way up. Has new plugs and air filter but not new fuel filter.

2. the grass where i was .. more of grass and rough ground but totally dry. back wheels kept spinning. i assume its due to the ground as its not regular smooth lawn.

3. when i push sticks forward or back there is like a straining sound or groaning. almost like in a car when power steering groans. Any idea how to fix this?

4. sticks are way too sensitive and too close to me.. any way to make them less sensitive or move them a bit forward?

thanks!

depending how much that DR bush hog weighed, the Hyrdro motors may not have liked it. That's one way to kill them.
as far as engaging the blades go, it may be a safety switch and not a engine problem.

I have a 2021 magnum. The deck problem could be the saftey switch on the seat. There is no adjustment on the levers. you can buy adjustable levers from BB they are expensive. I looked into.
My bad boy is not as sensitive as my Exmark.

Could also have a bad bearing in the deck. Remove the belt and check all spindles spin free.

Even the engine if a v-twin could be just running on one cylinder. Most v-twins can power the motion drives but not the deck load. I have only seen a hand full that power up a deck on one cylinder even it is a strain.

Now some hydros are just noisy. Just depends how loud it is. Very loud groaning is not good. Low level noise is to be expected.

Assume im stupid.. how/where do i check this? if the switch was in fact bad, how would that affect just turning the mower on/off and getting on/off it. thanks

i was thinking to pull the plug connectors one at a time while running and see what happens. whatcha think? might tell me if both are running as expected?

you think would affect the blades starting up? it drove around pulling fine not any issues ...ground is flat. blades did work fine when i started out the day...

That works. The plug wire you pulls that kills the engine indicates that it is the working and that the other side of engine is dead. IF that is the case then it can ignition or valve problem on the dead cylinder.

i don't think the trans issue would affect the blade engagement
