Greetings all! My name is Charlie. I am looking to start a landscaping business and wanted to focus the bulk of my business on cutting grass. I was looking into the bobcat zero turns, specifically their new stand on zs4000! Also was looking into John Deere since I know they’re a reputable brand but I don’t really hear about their mowers like that, I do see a couple companies have them but not many. Plus I don’t like thethat gas tank just sticking out on the side of the stand on model they have! Just wanted to see what everyone’s experience is with these 2 brands. I do like the JD green and yellow though!

Thanks in advance!

Charlie,
Firstly welcome & good luck with your new business
Next your question is too broad to get any meaningful answers
Ford vs Chev posts go nowhere Bobcat zs 4000 vs Quick Trak 636M questions yield a more meaning full response
However you would have been far better asking How is using a ZS 4000 & how is it going ? in the bobcat section
And similarily who is using a xy" stander ( because we have no idea which JD you are looking at ) in the JD section .
And as you seem to like the the idea of asking the same question all over the place leave the Ford vs Chev question for the equipment section .
And if I was going into landscaping I would be looking at Dingo ( or similar ) with mower attachments Both flail & rotary decks .
And as you asked the exact same question in 2 different places they you will get this exact same answer in 3 different places

Not sure which post to respond to but I'd first check the transmissions on anything you're looking at. I'd consider spending a couple hundred dollars more to get a higher rated setup in that area. Engines and other parts are about the same in a price range these days. Look for cylinder sleeves and an oil filter as a minimum.

The Bobcat ZS4000 is actually a Bob-Cat QuickCat 4000 in Bobcat colors. Bobcat bought Bob-Cat. You'll likely find more info available on the Bob-Cat mowers. Good machines with an excellent warranty. There are a lot of them in my area due to an excellent dealer.

It's the Bob-Cat QuickCat 4000 in Bobcat colors. I'm not a big fan of the Duradeck on them. I have that deck on my Bob-Cat FastCat Pro. The QuickCat/ZS4000 is basically the same machine as my FastCat Pro but is a stand-on format instead of sit-down. Mine leaves a lot of stringers in my cool season grasses unless I "heel" the deck, running the back lower than the front, and even then it doesn't give the same quality of cut my Exmark did. Still mine is a good reliable machine.
