Yes it is BS unless that gravel got into the pulleys where it will destroy a belt in no time flat.
A belt will tell you why it failed by looking at it.
Something was wrong with either the mower or it's operation for a belt to fail at 7 hours .
Do you still have it ?
if so some photos of the damaged areas of the belt will allow at least a determination of the mode of failure.

In any case it will be a moot point as blades & belts are not warranty items.

Local deere dealer doesn't do warranty repair on belts, batteries or tires. There is always a reason the customer caused it to fail. Wink wink. A mechanic there told me getting deere HQ to warranty those items takes an act if God.

What does the failed belts look like? Snapped in half? Chewed spots in belt? Melted or burned? If snapped in half take belt covers of and have someone sit on tractor and engage the belts and watch the belt. Is it running smooth or jumping around wildly. Some Deere mowers don't have enough spring rension and the deck belt jumps around wildly and can snap belts. Is the spring idler pulley moving a lot?

I would not like to jump to any quick conclusions.
JD sell thousands of them each season & if there was a factory fault there would be another person here with the same problem on a daily basis .
As was requested of Jeff909907 back in May .
IF you want us to help you we nee to see the broken belt .
However it seemed like Jeff was more interested in letting off some steam than fixing his belt problem.
