Doggone raccoons riped a hole into the soffet going into the roof and now rain is pouring in. Covered it with a tarp but now I have to coax them out before I close it up.

I am not a fan of raccoons unless they are nowhere near me or my house and I am only seeing them from afar. They do too much damage.

Are they in your attic ?

Can you get some bug bombs up there without coming in contact with the critters ?

If you can flood the attic with bug bombs from the end farthest away from the hole they made -----

Amonia also works -- I have used a leaf blower and put amonia in the intake or a Shop Vac with the amonia inside and the blower hose to the area.

Good Luck !

That's some good advice. It looks like they went he-man on the soffet and they are holed up in the back. We keep getting rain, and they are none too keen on me messing with them in the day time.

Raccoons can be a significant threat to your home. Known for their dexterity and ability to cause damage, raccoons can easily access attics, chimneys, and crawl spaces. We provide humane raccoon removal services and seal off entry points to prevent future infestations.
The best option is to call a professional company with experience in removing raccoons, especially if there are babies involved. They can safely handle the situation and ensure the animals are removed humanely. Additionally, they will take preventative measures, such as screening vents and dormers, to keep raccoons from entering your attic in the future. Companies like Tarzan Wildlife Control specialize in these services, ensuring a safe and effective solution for your raccoon problem. https://tarzanwildlife.com/

Yes, just trap them and eliminate them. I took out 4 here that found multiple ways into the barn including digging in thru the attic, and through the walls. The only solution was to take them out. Live traps works if you want relocate 30 plus miles away as they can return if under 20 miles away. Steel leg hold traps also works as long you are will to give them lead poisoning.

It is strange that even the buzzards won't touch them yet humans want to eat them. I laid four of them out and the buzzards just passed them up.

Not sure I would use a .22 in my attic but I have a .22 pellet rifle that does the trick with no chance of pass through.. r ☺

Had a family of racoons try to set up housekeeping too close to the house. After a series of poor choices on their part they had a talk with Mr Mossberg.

Mr Mossberg has a serious discussion with a neighbors dog pack (5-7 of them) that killed 14 chickens. And the Commache was loaded with 158 grain hollow points.

The owner got the point that I was switching over to T shot (triple BB size shot). Not going to play any more. The owner can look at his dogs on the side of the road.
