Case 444, Is this the right place to get help/info?

This is a larger frame mower early mid 80's I believe I was told it had a 14HP Kohler K321 engine. This engine was also used in deere 212, 214 & 216 of the same age. Would an engine out of a Deere drop right in the Case?
 
Any engine will drop right in & bolt right up provided the shaft diameter & length is the same.
They are standardised.
So measure your shaft diameter should be a even eighth 1" 1-1/8" 1-1/4"
Wiring is a different matter.
Control plate will transfer from your old engine to the new one

Thanks for the info! Soon as the weather breaks we will finish putting the John Deere 111 together and be ready to start another project.
