Craftsman mower won't move!

Craftsman mower model No. 917.203830 won't move forwards or backwards. Checked the belt and it is on properly. What could cause this?

Try this put the ***** end on jack stands and have someone on the mower. With it running check to see if the belt is turning the pulley on the tranny....

Put it in gear and see was it does.... Go thru all the gears.......
