I have noticed many questions on here that can be answered by looking up the service, parts, or operating manuals. Problem is, many are hard to find, out of print, or locked down in a clandestine fort in the vault of the manufacturer. This is frustrating and aggravating. We have more important things to do, like repairing our equipment, mowing the yard, or just moving on to the next project.

I propose we have a thread so all can find links and manuals to expedite repairs to the equipment on their bench. This way when we need to remember where it was on the site, it will be RIGHT HERE!

Many have been a great help in finding these manuals on the internet. So this can work if we share what's available. And if it's not publicly available, ask anyway.

Hey I need a manual for my Kohler engine, but I'm not sure of the model number.

some of us are in the trade and as such pay for access to large libraries of parts books & service sheets.
We are happy to send a single direct link to a manual that is normally behind a fire wall
However lumping them all together makes it too easy to find us and have our subscriptions cancelled.
Some of the firewlls ar quite weak and once in you can access everything while others are document specific.
then some greedy moron will troll this forum , pull down all of the information and start flogging them on evilbay & crags.
This will get the information owners really angry and it will become even harder to get access to documents.

No need to I already have this courtesy of a friendly JD Dealer
However I will help everyone a little bit more.
When you find your belt number , any make not just JD go to the Gates Interchange site http://www.gates.com/all-search-tools/automotive-interchange-search-results.
Type the number into the box named "Part Number" and press he "find Now" button

This will bring up another page with the equivalent Gates number which is a hot link.
Click on the Gates number and this will bring up yet another web page usually with a few alternative belts.
Click on the Gates Number again in the Part # column and this will bring up yet another page " product detail page "
This page contains the full description of the belt size & shape,, IF & ONLY IF Gates either made the original or an aftermarket equivalent.

Thus a GX20241 belt from the JD catalogue equates to a Gates 6757BR which is a A 92 & 3/8 wrapped Kevlar belt
A bit of a waste of time for JD because their OEM belts are very reasonably priced unlike MTD branded belts that are normally 2 to 3 times the Gates equivalent price.
