The last of the big spenders. Just what do you think you will get for 2 grand. Something well used? That would be like buying a commercial 61 inch ZTR for two grand. They are out there but far and few between. You and everybody else are looking for a 500CC+ ATV's so that brings the prices up. The 300's are starter bikes. The OP got his for 200 dollars but I will bet there is more to the story or he was very lucky.

It's amazing how one can stretch the dollars by finding good deals when one bides its time.
I have 4 diesel trucks, six 75 to 105 hp tractors, a CTL, 2 wheel loaders, 2 lawn tractors and a host of other equipment, enough to farm my 1700 acres.
Total outlay in money,..less than 150 grand.
I spend less in repair costs than the the yearly payment on just one new tractor or vehicle.

Come retiring and auction time i'll get the same money back or more.
How is that for starters

I have no idea what in the world you are talking about here. I am talking about motorized bikes not equipment. I ride, own, and repair on road and off road bikes. I don't sell them but ride for a hobby. I have bought a cabin in the mountains so I have a place to ride off road. Yes I know what I have to pay for a bike that is enjoyable for me to ride. Also seeing I repair them I also know what it cost for repairs. I have no desire to own any large equipment seeing I have spent most of my work years repairing them and its just bull work. Now that I am retired its nothing bigger then a lawn mower repair and at that I am going to out of that. I plan on doing a lot of riding my Harly this coming summer.

Bikes seem to hold there valve. Never did I say new prices or also junk. Look at any bikes and the prices on E-Bay or CL. I sold a 1976 Honda 750 road bike on E-bay for 2000 dollars last year. You wouldn't buy a Harley Davidson for much under 5000 dollars. Used top brand ATV's do hold there valve also when the new ones sell for 10,000 + dollars. Now if you are talking about something that has been beat to hell or Chinese made you can pick them up cheap. I can't help it if they give away free bikes where you live but I live in the real world. Now would you like to price parts to fix one of your junker's or Chinese bikes. Nothings free my good man. You are going to get what you pay for seeing you said it.

And I couldn't care less that road bikes hold their "valve," we're talking ATVs here. I also couldn't care less if you don't believe what we get them for here. No ATVs sold for 10 grand in 2003-2006 and everybody knows that. Shame on them if they think they can inflate their then brand-new price to today's, because that's not how it works in the real world, and they will soon figure it out as they continuously drop their price. Oh, I forgot, YOU live in the real world. Guess I meant the correct world. And I don't buy Chinese-I'm talking Polaris and Yamaha, mostly. I've passed on at least a dozen over the last year in this price range, as unfortunately, I'm not ready until I can sell my house.

Looks like some hard feeling here for some reason?? I don't remember S###ing in you corn flakes this morning did I? This is a mower forum, but bikes are my hobby. We are in the wrong place to be arguing prices on bikes. The Honda was a 1976 CB750A and if you can get one or even find one for 600 dollars grab it because it will sell and you will make money, nice bike but not many around anymore. They only made them for three years. Did you know that Honda also made a 10 speed road bike in them earlier years , five with a hi an lo. I ride Harley not Honda which could be another argument if you would like. I guess you might go price some 2014 ATV's and just see what they go for. Yes top of the line are over 10,000 now. As for my ATV's I run a Polaris and a Suzuki. I ride my ATV's mostly in the NY state Adirondack Mountains. Seeing you know so much about bikes you must ride also? What do you own and where do you ride. I have been thinking I would like a road trip on my bike in the northern parts of you great state some day.

See them all the time up here for that. 2003s, even up to 2006s for that, some a little more, some less. What the hell do you think, you're going to get what you paid for it on a ten or more year old ATV? Think again.

Bought a Yahama Grizzly 350 4 wheeler a few days ago for $200. Needs switch and a battery, air filter, spark plug, and it won't go in reverse. Appears to be the cable that runs from the brake pedal to the shifter not free. Racks are on it. Plastic is all there but faded. Seat is torn. Reckon I got a deal?

I have a bruin 250 I couldn't live without we live on a large farm we have 2 old Yamaha ATVS with many hours no offense to people with Hondas my friend has one it's cool but we have worked them side by side the Hondas couldn't keep up they overheated we have pulled diesel irrigation pumps with mine I can beet the crap out off them they just come back for more every time I hope you enjoy your new toy :wink:

You want to tell me where I said 200 dollars for anything? Or where I said it had to be 2006 or better? I said I wanted to spend two thousand on a used ATV, AND KNOW I CAN GET THEM FOR THAT. The last one I passed on was a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 600 for 2000 or best, because I WASN'T YET READY. It would have been perfect. Rode Motocross in my younger days, Hodaka Super Rat, Yamaha 250 MX, CZ 250 MX, Suzuki 400 MX, not street bikes, but have ridden in the past a Honda CB1000 and Kawasaki 500 Mach III, along with countless smaller bikes. Anything smaller than 750cc nowadays makes me feel like a moose. Your CB750A would have gone for more than a few hundred here, also, my apologies, but you didn't specify it was an automatic originally, whereas regular CB750s here are a dime a dozen, unless radically customized, and even then are far cheaper than Harleys. My next-door neighbors CB750, in fact, was bought for $300. He rode it for years before graduating to a Gold Wing, then to a HD Road King.

As for myself I have two ATV's, two Honda scooters, and a Harley sportster and very satisfied with what I own. Now as far as what I put the most miles on anymore I would say the two 50cc plastic Honda scooters. Each of the bikes have its own use.

The 350 Grizzly is still running great. I looked it up on the NADA. According to that it would be worth $2700 low retail. It is a great strong machine that I believe will serve me well for a lot of years to come.
