ZT1 stumbles and bumbles

New member here. Cub Cadet ZT1 Ultima w/ 50" deck & Kawasaki V-twin engine. As of late after mower is running for awhile, it begins to misfire, RPMs drop to near idle, erratic engine speed. Feels exactly as if I had shut off the in line fuel valve to let the carb run out of gas. If I disengage blades problem persists. If I shut enginme for a minute or so it starts up & runs fine until sometaime passes & it repeats. Though it feels like it is running out of gas, there is plenty in the tank. I replaced the fuel filter to no avvail. Has about 285 hours on the unit.

Any ideas?

Don't rule out a faulty ignition module cutting out when hot either.

the fuel shut off solenoid valve at the bottom of your float bowl is probably stuck.
