My ZG 23 starts fine. Once I disengage the brake or move the steering arms it quits. I am looking for advice on where to find the problem. I assume it is a safety switch somewhere, some help would be good. thx

Safety circuits
1) brake + seat switch + magneto kill
2) seat switch + PTO switch + magneto kill
What is common to both of those ?
The seat switch
SO if it is doing what you said
The problem has to be with the seat switch , the wiring to or from the switch or the interlock module should that mower have one .

bertsmobile1 thanks for the help and direction, found the issue in the plug of the seat switch. Just seemed to be loose or partly unplugged.

Nice when it is a cheap & easy fix
That plug should have a locking tab but on some it just does not work so lon term you might need a cable tie to keep it together
