Hi,

I am a new member. I am located in SW Florida. I have a 6 acre plot with about 3 arces of Mango trees. The land is flat except for drainage swails on each row of the trees. There is a house and two out buildings on the property.

I am looking for advice on purchasing a mower for the six acres. My budget is around 5 K.

We used to have a John Deere lawn tractor but parts for it were hard to get around here. Appreciate any advice, recommendations and experiences for a suitable mower and or lawn tractor.

Just my opinion, but $5k may not even get you into a high-end Residential model. If you get one with non-serviceable trannies and designed for light residential usage, it may not handle that much mowing for an extended period. I would recommend, if possible, to try looking in the $6k-$7k range if you can swing it.
