Z425 fuel pump hoses

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I have a question about my Z425 fuel pump hose routing. I see the input comes from the fuel filter and the output goes to the carb but where does the other connection go to? I bought this sight unseen at an auction and it needs a lot of work. I have seen some engines have the pulse connector hooked to a valve cover and there is a hole in the one just below where the fuel pump mounts but there is no hose connection. This is a Briggs V twin engine 44L777-0144-G1.

It is missing on this one. Yes, I found the hose on a parts diagram. I can tell the unit has been worked on. It has multiple problems but hopefully it won't be a money pit. Thanks for the responses.

The Z425 has always been a good light duty residential mower and not too difficult to work on. It has less "bells and whistles" to fuss with.

The biggest problem that I recall was people failing to remove the engine fan shroud and keep the cooling fins cleaned.

Keep in mind that the chassis will have its own separate product ID label that has to used when looking for parts for it.

Much of the time I reference Parts Tree for the part numbers of items then shop for them on eBay. I am not a fan of Amazon due to many parts mix-ups and substandard parts. I am not a big operator, so I don't have multiple part houses to keep track of.

Try to find OEM or genuine parts if possible and avoid knock off copies.

Not sure what you consider a "money pit" compared to the outrageous prices of new zero turn mowers today. Most have doubled in price since Covid and quality has gone way down.

Not too difficult? I have to differ on that. Try changing the starter solenoid or adjust the valves. Left rear wheel has to come off, rear wrap around has to removed, and the exhaust heat shields to even access the rocker cover screws. At least Briggs didn't use RTV those covers.

And have to have Orangutan arms to just change that starter solenoid.

Even installing the impulse line can be tricky as part of the wrap around has to be remove to access the top of the rocker cover. And changing the voltage regulator fuse is fun.

I have one I am having to replace deck spindles belts and all the idlers and PTO clutch. Fixing it up to sell, runs good though. Thought I would adjust the valves while at it. Oh yes not charging, needs stator. What do you think it would bring or am I getting more in it than I can get out of it. Never thought of pull the wrap wheel and heat shield to get to valve cover to adjust valves. Thanks for that.
