I have a YTH2448 with B&S engine 446677 0463 E1 - bought new in 2004ish
It starts very easily and runs great for about 30 minutes but then it really struggles when cutting grass with a couple of weeks growth (engine almost cuts out.)
I can deal with mowing the yard over a couple of days but now I'm noticing oil under the engine block when parked.
Since this is 14/15 years old I don't particularly want to pour a lot of money into it but if this is potential a quick/easy fix I'd give it a go.
I'm assuming I need to find the source of the leak to have any idea but are there any guides/pointers on where to start?
Those are symptoms of fuel starvation.
Suggest you try removing the fuel cap the next time it plays up.
If that makes no difference then pull the fuel line off at the pump and blow back down the fuel line.
Problem goes away for a while then time to clean the tank out.
