I have nearly 2300 posts on TBN, and Some rank newbie (70 posts) on TBN was talking smack yesterday about my John Deere, saying it was a Yanmar with green paint and an inflated price tag. Well that ticked me off so I told him so, now he is saying I am a TROLL, well if I am so be it. So freaking funny, a newbie with 70 posts telling me smack like that, I told him to sober up and get a good night's sleep.....:cool::cool::laughing:

Whatever happened to respect for us old farts, er, folks....???

Guy over on TBN claims to have a MF, and for what it is worth when I had 70 posts on TBN my manners were a LOT better than that guy exhibits. He is just envious because he knows John Deere IS THE BEST.

Yep, jealousy is a bad thing!

Just be happy with what you have, and if you are not, don't take it out on somebody who has something better.

The proper term is "envious"....
"Jealousy" and "envious" are two very different words with very different meanings...a few years ago I corrected an editor of the local newspaper when she wrote a column saying she was "envious" that another woman was showing interest in her husband. Her reaction to my polite correction was so scathing I think she was "jealous" that I, a high school graduate, had a superior knowledge of proper grammar.

"Jealous"....resentfully suspicious of a rival, or a rival's influence

"Envious"....desire for some advantage, quality, possession, etc. that another person has

Damn it. But you must admit, I wouldn't be the first person do mistake the two!

Thanks for the schooling...I'm sure some members have expanded their vocabulary as a result of this post.

MM, thanks. Those were the exact words I was trying to think of to define that obnoxious p----k over on LMF who was envious of my John Deere. Will be sure to pass them along to my buddy Twall also.....
