Hi all,

I am doing yearly maintenance on my husqvarna m-zt 52. This is for home use where I am cutting about 3 acres. Currently it has about 25 hours on it and the only thing I've done is replace the blades and change the oil. I am pretty much following the book but had some questions as information on the chart isn't matching what they list in service journal.

Here's what I've put together for yearly. Is this correct or am I missing anything?

Replace oil
Replace oil filter
Replace air filter
sharpen / replace blades
Tire Pressure

Now the items below I am not sure about. These were also listed at "at least once a year"
Change fuel filter
Change hydro oil / filter (500 hr)
Perform 500 hour service

What are your thoughts?

If you do less than 100 hrs/ year then at the end of each season do a 100 hr/ service.
This will keep the mower in top condition without over servicing.
During the year, do your services according to the hours since the last service.
Thus by the end of the 5th year you will be doing the 5 year service which is around the time most hydros get an oil change.
Hydros benefit from adjustments but being totally sealed require little maintanance and to frequent oil changes are not good.
The mower on the other hand can not get enough oil changes as it has a much more difficult life.

The biggie that always gets overlooked is removing the engine covers and cleaning the engine block.
The trick to a long life is clean oil in a cool motor
