Need to call a customer to give him an estimate to repair his Polaris SxS. He seems to have ran it low on oil again after I rebuild the engine 2 years ago. Except this time it did more damage and am going to have install a long block. Estimate $5,800.

Working on a Command CV730 and while doing the carb kit discovered that it also need the accelerator kit. The carb repair kit is $68 and the accelerator pump kit is $104. Can get a complete carb assy plus gaskets for $35. For $35 worth ordering just to steal the parts off of to repair the OEM carb if the Amazon carb doesn't work.

From the description:
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN AFTERMARKET MUFFLER AND IS NOT A 100% MATCH. THERE ARE SOME DIFFERENCESBETWEEN THIS ITEM AND THE OEM VERSION. WITH THAT SAID WE HAVE WORKED OUT MANY OF THE FITMENT ISSUES AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL CUSTOMERS SUCCESSFULLY INSTALL AND USE THIS MUFFLER ON THEIR MOWER.****

Yeah, kind of chancy. Are they hand bending all these?
One of the things I wish these muffler guys would do is cut some vertical bracing webbing welded between the flange and the muffler body. That's a hell of an overhang just sitting there bouncing up and down and vibrating cracks right into the muffler body and flange welds.

Try working a JD 652R where you have remove the muffler to even adjust the valves. Getting it off and on is a major challenge.

Worked on a cub cadet shaft driven with a Vanguard horizontal that needed carb work. 4 hr to R-R the engine plus do the carb work. Years before that worked on a White Grazor mower which is a front deck mower with the opposed twin briggs mounted under the seat in the belly. 5 hours to R-R engine to replace the ignition module.

Customer bought a new OEM kohler carb for close to $300 that didn't fix the problem. Brought it to me and found it had a one dead coil and the other one was intermittent.
Don't you just love it when they throw parts at it and it don't fix it. LOL Diaginosing the problem is 95% of the game.

Worked on a JD last year that the bottom seal was leaking and there was just enough room on the engine compartment for the crank shaft to stick through. The seal could not be replaced without pulling the engine. Which in this case the engine had to be pulled any way since the botton crank shaft bushing had worked down and ruined the pan. But still a bad design

For you people that think the dealers are ripping you off with their pricing. I put in a parts order Monday with one of my suppliers for 3 blades, a tube for a tire, 2 idler pulleys, and 6 bearings. Shipped in 2 boxes for a total of 14.8 lbs. Order total was $202 and the freight was another $59.39
