Got a ym 20hp bs 42 inch cut. broke deck belt. drove into barn. bought belt, went to start and solenoid buzzes. replaced and still same thing. Is it possible that when belt broke, messed something up with transmission. Need to roll to repair, no room in barn to take deck etc off. any help wood be appreciated. I know I need to repair blade spindle its locked up.

Pull rod out at back of tractor for manually moving tractor, make sure to release parking brake. Remove battery & take to auto parts store & ask them to please load test battery, should be of no cost to you. Always remove black negative cable first when removing battery & install black negative cable last when installing new battery.
On a lot of MTD mowers. When the deck belt breaks the large spring that pulls the deck back to tighten the belt. Will pull the deck back to far. This causes the deck to rub on the rear tires making the mower hard to push and the lift lever won't completely raise the deck to close the safety switch to start the mower.
