XT1 Enduro 50" Fab deck height adjustment

Hello all!
I think I have deck height issue.
when I lower my deck all the way down to the ground the height indicator reads 3 and when I am cutting the height indicator reads almost all the way up.
I would like to know if this is normal. The dealership claims this is normal by design.
Any help will be greatly apreciated!

They are mostly all off the gauge.. I set mine to be accurate to the setting I choose..

Need the model from the serial number tag but I am pretty sure it is not right. Sounds like the lift handle is bent to me. I had one earlier this year where this was the case.

Yes it is the one that I had to re-bend to get the lift working correctly. It from having lifting a heavy deck on that 2020 model too forcibly. The deck lift spring helps but not quiet strong enough. Item 8 is the screw to tight to max the spring tension but if # 10 is already bent it won't help until # 10 is re-bent to the correct shape.

Deck height on riding mowers is often set low from the factory. Often some adjustments can be made. Measure from blade to level concrete with tires inflated correctly to determine actual cutting height.

What I am think is the OP is saying the handle won't go down past #3 with the deck on the ground. The deck handle should be at the bottom of the lift position when the deck is on the ground. And yes I mean the deck is touching the ground which would be #1 on the scale which is the full scalping position. The deck simply can't be position below the solid surface if I understand the physics correctly.

You are correct.
I will check the handle for damage.For what it is worth the mower was delivered this way and has always bugged the @#$% out of me. I have the deck off for maintenance at this time so now is a good time to try and fix it.

I looked at the deck handle and their doesn't appear to be any obvious damage but it's hard to tell without a good one to compare it to. I may order a new one and take it from there.
Another thing I found is that the anti gouge wheels were adjusted all the way down. I am thinking that maybe the wheels were keeping the deck from lowering????

Yes that can prevent from lowering all the way. They are never meant to on ground all the time, just in cases where you go over a rise in the lawn.

Just temporarily either remove the gauge wheels or raise to the highest holes so the deck can be placed down on the ground surface. This would tell you if there is an actual problem with the handle or not.

As for the handle rod it would be more of a twist at a bend which would not be obvious.
