Homesite XL chain saw - no other numbers/model/unit number/serial number
16” bar

Ran out of fuel, primer bulb cracked, replaced bulb, refueled it, it would start and die out

Replaced both fuel lines from primer bulb
Did not replace fuel line with filter on it (it held vacuum)
Did replace the fuel filter while it was apart
Replaced air filter (which was deteriorated)

Starts on primer but getting no fuel to remain running - what’s my next move, please

Fuel is mixed properly and fresh

Make sure you have fresh pre-mix fuel, not stuff that has been sitting in the garage for a while. Try adjusting the carburetor and if no change, need to remove carburetor and clean. Otherwise, try to find a shop that will work on a Homelite. The downside is the labor cost on an old Homelite may not be worth it. One of the main reasons I only work on Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, and Redmax handheld equipment.

Make sure that your pickup and return fuel lines are connected correctly.

If the fuel lines were dead, betting the diaphragms inside the carb are too. Install all new fuel lines and filter. Throw a carb kit in her.

Only number on the carb is an H17 26G Zama - I e-mailed them - have not heard back
