X534 Tire chains ?

Hey guys, Helping a friend get a winter setup for his x534. I read that installing chains causes issues with the 4 wheel steering, Has anyone successfully used tire chains on their 4 wheel steer models and what other alternatives are available ?

Chains are not recommended on the rear of 4-wheel steer models because it vibrates the mechanisms and has a habit of the chains flailing the steering end links. I don't see much snow in my area but people use chains all the time dealing with soft ground and mud.

A ballast box on the rear of the mower would likely do better.
