What is proper way to adjust valves. Just turned 200 hrs and I think they are needing done. Gets hard to crank when hot. Engine is KAWASAKI FH661A-CS04-R E/NOFH661VB93269. 22HP DATE OF MFG 0909

Working on the 4-stroke engine since the 60's and have 3 nitro methane burning race cars the best way to set valve (I think) is:

#1 Turn the engine over with a socket on the crank bolt in direction of running rotation.

#2 With valve cover off watch the intake valve and when it opens and just starts to close adjust the exhaust valve.

#3 Now watch the exhaust valve and when it just starts to open adjust the intake valve.
