My (New to me) 2012 JD X 324 mower got high centered mowing some spring grass for the first time this season.
After I lifted it off the obstruction, I attempted to start the mower. When I turned the key, nothing happened.
The starter didn't spin... solenoid did not even click.
The blades were disengaged, brake was set.
When the key was in headlight on position, the lights were functional.
I checked the battery, changed out the starter related 20 amp fuse, still nothing.
This mower has run like a top since I brought it home more than 100 hours ago.
Is there a fusible link, or some other connection I should be checking? Possibly a starter relay?
One of the safety switches is faulty, most likely the brake.
Not sure exactly where it is but they are usually under the mower thus subject to this sort of damage.
Do yourself a massive favour & get a JD technical manual
Not only is the diagnosis sections written so a 10 year old can follow them they also go to the effort of showing where every switch & plug is located on the mower.
I don't have one for your mower as I don't service any of them.
Not cheap, but when is top quality cheap.
OTOH the price is only around 1 to 2 hours of a technicals charge out for labour so pays for itself the first time it gets used
