Remove battery & take to auto parts store & ask them to please load test your battery, should not cost you a dime, use your old battery as a core when purchasing new battery. Check your Operators Manual for battery cold cranking amps, CCA'S. You can shop online to get best price for new battery at an auto parts store, big box store, etc. Post your Craftsman Model Number from under seat, thanks, Mark

lift the rear end off the ground and turn the wheels
If you can only turn them in opposite directions then the parking brake is stuck on
Should be behind the right wheel
The brakes do not work on the rear wheels directly they work on the layshaft so the wheels con only go in opposite directions
If you have to push it, lift the back from one corner so there is not much weight on one wheel thus it can slide turning backwards while the other will roll forward.
You can put water in front of the wheel that is sliding to act as a lubricant .
This is how tow trucks drag cars that are illegally parked & have automatic gear boxes . they lube under one rear wheel .
