I have Tiger Cat, 42 " mower. lately it refused ti to start after cutting about half the 3 acre lot. Today it failed to start before I used it. I thought it was dead cell in the battery, it started after I installed the battery (2 weeks ago But now is doing the same thing. I have checked the fuses and found out the right side steering mechanism is a lot looser (no resistance at all) than the left. Right side as you are seated in the mower. Any suggestions?

First suggestion is positing the full engine make and model numbers.
Second suggestion is to check the battery voltage, start the engine then check the voltage again.
IT should be higher engine running than stopped , somewhere around 14 to 15 volts.
Engage the PTO then with your 3rd hand check the battery voltage again. It must remain above the voltage when the engine was stopped at all times.
If not the alternator or rectifier is faulty.
Let us know what you find.
