Won't engage forward or reverse, please help!

I have a 10+ year old MTD mower Model: 14as825h062.

The mower recently will no longer MOVE in forward or reverse. The engine will start as normal, you can engage Neutral and move it, and can move the shifter into forward and reverse, but the mower till not MOVE in either direction.

I tried looking at the schematic, but it is mind numbing. Anyone have a suggestion or know what the issue and part name would be. Really hoping it is not the entire transmission and it is some kind of linkage.

What have you checked so far? drive belt? Wheel drive keys? start small and work up

All belts are connected, but have not checked the keys, didn't think about those shearing or falling off.

Get back on the tractor, start it, put it in forward, then put the selector in first, lower the rpms to @ half speed.

Now, without your foot on the pedal, move the shifter out of it's notch, it should want to pull toward a higher gear on its own, let it. Slowly let the lever go as far
as it want's to and see if is trying to move, if it starts moving, pull the lever back to first and drive a little, then move it up to the next notch, and so on.
