Hi All
Got an old 2004 Murray Select model 425001x8B
Was working on it today and noticed it has a very wobbly drive pulley on top of the transmission.
think it’s just the key or is the pulley worn out?

Pull the battery & battery box out then grab the pulley by the edges & try to wobble it.
If the pulley wobbles but the shaft does not then yes the pulley is worn
If the pulley is quite solid on the shaft and the pair of them move together then the bush / bearing inside the tranny is gone .

It would be probably the needle bearings shot but if the shaft itself is worn then the OP is sol as they are NLA. Just depends on which is bad. The 95094MA pulley is still available.

Great thank you.
The shaft is solid and the pulley wobbles. I can actually see space between shaft and pulley as I move it. Also thank you for the part number.
