Hey guys!! We will need more info before we can answer the question. LawnBoy used over a half dozen engine on that model mower. Need to know the serial number of your unit. 99% used an engine which we call the brick top, because it is shaped like a brick, long and thin. This engine was built by LawnBoy. The coil which you are looking at is for a Tecumseh engine so it will not work on an engine built by LawnBoy.

You can buy a "conversion" device for any older point/condenser ignition that takes the place of the points and condenser and uses the original coil. They work fine. It is a tiny little electronic module that can be mounted in a hidden place under the shroud.
